Six individuals attempting to board cruise ships at Port Canaveral, Florida, were apprehended by Brevard County Sheriff's deputies due to outstanding warrants and alleged probation violations. The arrests occurred on July 17, with one passenger facing charges related to a murder case.

Martell Murray, 24, of Georgia, was taken into custody on an out-of-state fugitive warrant alleging he violated conditions of his release in connection with pending murder charges. The sheriff's office stated the warrant stemmed from an alleged violation tied to an existing murder case, but did not disclose further details about the victim or jurisdiction.

Kenderia Burney, 24, was arrested on a violation-of-probation warrant. Both Murray and Burney were booked into the Brevard County Jail and remained in custody without bond as of July 19. Murray was booked as an out-of-state fugitive, while Burney was held on an out-of-county warrant.

Also arrested was Veronica Hamlet, 38, of Tampa, on a failure-to-appear warrant. She was released from the Brevard County Jail on July 18 after posting a $1,000 bond.

James Otha Brewton, 66, of Allendale, South Carolina, was taken into custody on a violation-of-probation warrant. Jail records indicate he was booked on an out-of-county warrant and released July 18 after posting a $500 bond.

Additionally, two other passengers were apprehended as they disembarked from their cruise. Deputies determined both individuals were on felony probation and had allegedly left the country without permission from their probation officers. Authorities did not identify these passengers or the crimes for which they were on probation.

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey stated in a social media post that the sheriff's office would apprehend anyone with warrants who comes to Brevard County, regardless of their origin.
