The twin sister of Brett Whittaker has issued an emotional plea for information as police continue to investigate the unexplained death of her 54-year-old brother in Sydney.

Emergency services were called to a property on Cove Avenue in Manly at approximately 6:20 a.m. on June 11 after reports of an unresponsive man. NSW Ambulance paramedics attempted to revive Mr. Whittaker, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

While the death is not currently considered suspicious, detectives are working to establish the precise circumstances and timeline leading up to Mr. Whittaker being found. Detective Superintendent John Duncan, Commander of Northern Beaches PAC, stated that investigators are seeking to understand how Mr. Whittaker came to be in that condition and how long he had been there before emergency services arrived.

Authorities have confirmed that several individuals were present at the unit with Mr. Whittaker on June 10, the day before his death. It has also been established that he was alive at 2:30 a.m. on June 11. However, a critical gap remains in the timeline between that point and when his body was discovered.

Mr Whittaker was found unresponsive at a Manly property in June

"We have information that a number of other people were with Brett in the unit the previous day (10 June 2026), and we've been able to confirm he was alive at 2.30am," Det Supt Duncan said. "But we want to know where he was and who he was with in the intervening hours until his body was found at 6.30am."

Police are particularly interested in information regarding calls made from the location to other individuals, hoping these people can provide clarity on how Mr. Whittaker ended up alone and unwell. Investigators are appealing for anyone with information about Mr. Whittaker's movements or the circumstances surrounding his death to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000 or via the NSW Crime Stoppers website.
