Simone Ashley, known for her role as Kate Sharma in Netflix's "Bridgerton," has indicated she would welcome an offer to be a Bond Girl. Speaking ahead of receiving the Performer Of The Year award at the upcoming ELLE Style Awards on September 9, Ashley shared her openness to a role in the iconic spy film series. "I would, yeah. If it happens, it happens!" she stated when asked about the possibility.
Ashley, 31, whose other credits include "The Devil Wears Prada 2," expressed a desire to take on more movie roles and find a compelling television series. "I definitely want to do more movies and find a really delicious TV show to get into. I'd love to do an action movie. Something fantasy, maybe," she said. She also touched on her personal life, expressing a desire to find a partner and start a family, stating, "I definitely want to have my own family and I'd love to find my person."
Ashley reflected on the impact of "Bridgerton," acknowledging its significant role in her career. "It changed my life and, without it, I wouldn't be where I am," she commented, adding that she anticipates continuing with the series until its conclusion, which she estimates could be after several more siblings' stories are told.
The search for the next James Bond actor is ongoing, with recent speculation centering on actors such as Callum Turner, Jack Lowden, and Jack Barton. Reports indicate that Amazon MGM is actively developing new films in the franchise following their acquisition of the rights. While specific casting decisions have not been announced, the competition for the coveted role continues to be a subject of discussion within the industry. The October issue of ELLE UK, featuring Ashley, is scheduled for release on September 3.
