Simon Levy, 41, a convicted double murderer and rapist, pleaded not guilty on Monday to charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and intentional suffocation. The alleged incident occurred on February 18 at Belmarsh prison, where Levy is serving a life sentence.
During a hearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court, Levy denied attacking prison guard Paul Dunne. The prosecution stated that Levy allegedly stabbed Dunne multiple times in the arm and neck with a pen as a meeting concluded. According to the prosecutor, Levy then grabbed the officer around the throat and tightened his grip. Levy's lawyer, however, denied these allegations, asserting that his client did not assault the officer or grab him by the throat.
Levy was awaiting trial for double murder, rape, and multiple sexual assaults at the time of the alleged attack on the guard. Last week, he was sentenced for the murders of Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo in March 2025 and Sheryl Wilkins five months later. He also committed a rape in January 2025 in the same Tottenham car park where Wilkins was later discovered deceased. Prior to these offenses, Levy had been incarcerated for several sexual assaults.
The case has been transferred to Inner London Crown Court for trial, with a hearing scheduled for September 14.
