Apple TV+ has officially renewed the science fiction drama "Silo" for a fourth and final season. The renewal was announced halfway through the production of the second season, ensuring the complete story arc from Hugh Howey's New York Times bestselling trilogy will be told.
Star and executive producer Rebecca Ferguson expressed her enthusiasm for concluding the narrative. "I have always felt passionately about telling the entire story contained within Hugh Howey’s books, so I couldn’t be happier that audiences around the world have enthusiastically embraced the show," Ferguson stated in a press release. "Alongside our partners at Apple, Graham, and the entire cast and crew, I cannot wait to dive into these final two thought-provoking seasons that will beautifully conclude this dystopian tale."
While an official release date for Season 4 has not yet been announced, production on both Season 3 and Season 4 occurred back-to-back, with filming for the final season now complete. Based on previous release schedules, industry observers anticipate a potential return in 2027.
Season 1 of "Silo" premiered in May 2023. Following a delay due to the 2023 strikes, Season 2 aired from November 2024 to January 2025. Season 3 concluded its run in September 2026.
The Season 3 finale featured a significant time jump, leaping three centuries into the future after an unspecified event forced characters Daniel and Helen into separate silos. In the future timeline, Daniel, now known as Troy, is alive in Silo 1, preserved through cryo-technology with his memory wiped. He manages the other silos. Juliette and the residents of Silo 18 evade a Safeguard patrol, leading Troy and Juliette to make contact. Troy, disguised as an algorithm, warns Juliette that Silo 1 will cease attempts to kill Silo 18's inhabitants if she stops trying to contact other silos. Despite agreeing to this truce, Juliette and her allies plan to dismantle Silo 1. This conflict is expected to be a central storyline in the upcoming final season. The season also revealed that Victor, before his death, left a video for Troy referencing Helen Drew, a woman who triggers fragmented memories of Troy's past life as Daniel. Season 4 is anticipated to explore Troy's struggle to recall his identity and reconnect with his sister.
Fans can stream the first three seasons of "Silo" on Apple TV+. The streaming service offers a seven-day free trial for new subscribers and a single ad-free plan for $14.99 per month. A bundle with Apple TV+ and Peacock is also available starting at $14.99 per month.
