Las Vegas police responded Tuesday afternoon to a reported shooting near the courthouse where Duane 'Keffe D' Davis is currently on trial for his alleged role in the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur.
Metro police were dispatched to the 500 block of Casino Center Boulevard around 1 p.m. following reports of gunshots inside a Starbucks, according to KLAS. Upon arrival, officers found no victims at the scene.
The incident occurred as members of Shakur's family were leaving the courthouse, PEOPLE reported. The trial, however, proceeded as scheduled.
Prosecutors allege that Davis, 63, plotted Shakur's death to retaliate after Shakur's entourage attacked his nephew, Orlando 'Baby Lane' Anderson, outside the MGM Grand following a Mike Tyson fight. Davis is accused of supplying the weapon and initiating the events that led to the killing of the 25-year-old rapper.
Davis has pleaded not guilty to murder with a deadly weapon with the intent to promote, further or assist a criminal gang. He faces a potential life sentence if convicted.
