Shannon Elizabeth, known for her role in the "American Pie" franchise, has announced she is swearing off dating, stating that OnlyFans has become the only relationship she needs. Elizabeth, who moved to South Africa in 2016 to focus on wildlife conservation, shared her perspective during an appearance on Bill Maher's "Club Random" podcast.

"I'm very newly single, and I don’t plan on ever dating again, to be honest," Elizabeth told Maher. When pressed, she reiterated, "No, I do not want to date. I’m not interested. There’s too many con artists out there. There’s too many people I don’t trust. I have no interest."

She added that the relationships she is building with her audience on OnlyFans are currently fulfilling her relational needs. Maher suggested that her stance might change, drawing a parallel to actress Halle Berry, who had also stated she would not marry again before later doing so.

Elizabeth launched her OnlyFans account in April and has reported significant financial success, earning over $1.2 million in her first week, according to Variety. She explained that the platform has provided a financial lifeline as she navigated her divorce from Simon Borchert, noting that acting roles had become less frequent and she had been relying on her savings.

"For the last ten years, I’ve been living off of my savings for the most part, because I haven’t been as focused on work," Elizabeth told Variety. "To be able to get myself back to the point where I’m not struggling and am able to choose projects because I like them and not because I need the money — it’s definitely giving me more freedom to do that."

Elizabeth is also exploring directing and producing content for her OnlyFans page, which currently does not feature nudity. She described the experience as empowering and a way to push boundaries as she becomes more comfortable with the platform.

A portion of the earnings from Elizabeth's OnlyFans account is directed to her wildlife conservation nonprofit. Despite potential criticism, Elizabeth expressed happiness with her decision, highlighting the positive support she has received and the creative control the platform offers.

"I know people do make assumptions about creators on the platform," she said. "But I don’t go looking for it. And people have been nothing but really supportive and kind to me. ... I’m really happy doing it. I’m really having so much fun. I’m connecting with people."

Elizabeth also advised other actresses considering the platform to try it. "Absolutely do it," she said. "It’s been an incredible experience. And if you don’t like it, you just stop. That’s the beauty of it. The control’s in your hands."
