Actress Shailene Woodley was met with a reporter's question about her former fiancé Aaron Rodgers and his recent public statements regarding their relationship, responding with laughter.
Woodley was entering MPTF’s 20th Annual Evening Before event at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood on Sunday when she was asked about Rodgers' comments. She offered no verbal response, only a smile, before continuing into the event.
Rodgers, a quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, made significant claims about his past relationship with Woodley during an episode of the "Not just Football" podcast released on Thursday. He alleged that Woodley wanted to engage in sexual activity with another man shortly after he proposed in December 2020. Rodgers stated that Woodley took off her engagement ring by March 2021, though their engagement was announced in February 2021 and their breakup was reported in April 2022.
"A couple days after that she tells me, 'Before we get married, I gotta go f–k this guy,' and I’m like — because her story is that I ruined her life and gave her crazy depression because I left her," Rodgers said on the podcast. "But in actuality, she told me that and then she took off the ring by March — I proposed in December — and we had a couple of times where we tried to get reunited and nothing ever happened. There wasn’t even a relationship in 2022 to break off."
Rodgers also claimed that Woodley stated, "I don’t want to be with you" after they attempted reconciliation in 2021. He expressed frustration with what he described as a narrative that has been presented about their relationship that he believes is untrue.
During the same podcast appearance, Rodgers also spoke about another ex-girlfriend, Danica Patrick, and made claims about his current wife, Brittani. Rodgers, who married Brittani in 2025, stated that he met her in 2017 and regretted not pursuing a relationship sooner. He suggested that he was emotionally unavailable during his relationships with Woodley and Patrick because he had already met Brittani. No public photographs of Rodgers and Brittani have been released, as her identity has remained private since he acknowledged their relationship in June of the previous year.
