The Maine office of U.S. Senator Susan Collins was vandalized Monday night with red paint and the message "BLOOD on her HANDS" scrawled on the sidewalk. This is the second such incident to occur at the senator's Biddeford office within the past month.
Collins' chief of staff, Katie Brown, told Fox News that the vandals "dumped a bucket of red paint in front of the location while writing in crimson." She described the incident as "another attempt to intimidate the Senator and her staff," adding that "these tactics are disturbing, but not effective."
In September, the office door was spray-painted with the epithet "Trump whore." Collins' challenger for her U.S. Senate seat, former Democratic state Senator Troy Jackson, condemned the September vandalism in a statement to Fox News Digital, saying, "Senator Collins and her staff should be able to do their jobs without anyone defacing their office, and I condemn whoever did this."
The Biddeford office is located near the site of a July officer-involved shooting where a law enforcement officer fatally shot Johan Sebastián Guerrero, a 26-year-old Colombian national. Days after the shooting, protesters entered the office and chanted "vote her out."
Biddeford police are investigating the latest incident. Neither Collins' nor Jackson's campaigns immediately responded to requests for further comment.
