A second tragedy has struck the Electric Forest Festival in Michigan, with the discovery of a 28-year-old man's body in a wooded area. The death of Jerard Jackson, who had been reported missing, occurred just two days after the body of a newborn was found in a portable toilet at the same festival.

Michigan State Police reported that Jackson was last seen leaving the festival on Monday morning, June 29. His body was found the following day in Rothbury, approximately 60 miles northwest of Grand Rapids. Authorities stated that there is no indication of foul play and it appears Jackson took his own life. The investigation is ongoing, pending a final report from the medical examiner.

Jackson had left his belongings at his campsite, and his rental vehicle was discovered a few miles from the festival grounds with his wallet and keys inside. Friends described Jackson as joyful, with one noting, "Behind that beautiful smile was a soul that had endured more than it ever spoke of."

The festival is now facing scrutiny following the discovery of the newborn, found during routine maintenance of a restroom on Sunday morning. Investigators are concerned for the health of the unidentified mother and are working to determine if the infant's death was criminal. Police have urged the public to avoid speculation on social media out of respect for the ongoing investigations and those affected.

Electric Forest has not yet released a statement regarding either incident. The festival, which featured over 100 artists including ILLENIUM and Kaskade, had admission prices ranging from $150 for general admission to $16,100 for premium lodging packages.
