Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., on Thursday declined to comment on a report alleging Sen. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., had sexual relationships with at least two Democratic House staffers while he was a member of the House. When asked by Fox News Digital about the allegations, Schumer stated, "I'm not — I'm focused on this right now," referring to his planned criticism of President Donald Trump’s prime-time address scheduled for that evening.

The New York Post reported that Gallego engaged in sexual relationships with aides to Texas Democrats. According to House rules, members are not prohibited from having relationships with staffers who do not work in their own office. Sources told the outlet that these relationships were believed to have occurred when Gallego was unmarried.

Gallego's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment. When previously asked by reporters about the allegations, Gallego stated, "I'm not going to engage in gossip."

The report surfaces as Gallego has faced scrutiny over his past close relationship with former Rep. Eric Swalwell. Gallego has stated that his friendship with Swalwell, who resigned from the House earlier this year amid allegations of sexual assault, rape, and harassment, "clouded my judgment" regarding rumors about Swalwell's conduct.

Earlier this year, a Senate Ethics Committee probe into allegations against Gallego, including claims of sexual misconduct and campaign finance violations, was dismissed. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., who filed the complaint, had declared the accusations were "right-wing conspiracies." Gallego had also stated that the dismissal "reaffirms what I have said about these accusations from the beginning: they were right-wing conspiracies peddled by far-right activists like Anna Paulina Luna, the White House and their allies."

Following the latest report, Luna posted on X, "'Conspiracy theories,' right, [Sen. Ruben Gallego]?" She added, "Time to resign. Glad people are going on record about this creep."
