Sasha Obama, 25, was observed leaving a fitness center in Los Angeles on Monday, dressed in workout attire. The sighting occurred just weeks after her father, former President Barack Obama, shared in an interview that his daughters, Malia and Sasha, are more contemporary and humorous than he is.

Obama was seen exiting the Equinox gym, a facility frequented by celebrities, wearing cornflower-blue spandex shorts and a black zip-up athletic jacket. She carried a large black quilted bag and wore flip-flops, with her hair styled in a half-up, half-down manner and AirPods in her ears. Her bright yellow manicure was also noticeable.

Sasha, who graduated from the University of Southern California in 2023, resides in Los Angeles with her older sister, Malia, who is 28. She appeared to be alone during her recent gym visit.

In a June interview with People, Barack Obama told his wife, Michelle, that his daughters possess a level of coolness and wit that he finds hard to match. "They are cooler, smarter, funnier... Those two, Malia and Sasha are all that," he said. He further elaborated, "If I were their age... I can barely keep up with them at the dinner table now, if I was their contemporary, I would just sit there." If I were their age... I can barely keep up with them at the dinner table now, if I was their contemporary, I would just sit there,' he added

Michelle Obama also commented on their daughters, reflecting on their generation's strengths. She mentioned that the family maintains their primary residence in Washington, D.C., to remain close to their daughters' friends, as they often visit home from time away. "When the kids come home from being away, they want to be with their friends," she explained. Michelle also shared that the couple still keep their primary residence in Washington, D.C., as that's where many of the girls' friends are still located, as the sisters are seen here in June 2026

Michelle Obama also praised the younger generation broadly, stating that Malia and Sasha reflect the positive attributes of their peers. The former first lady remarked, "There are millions of amazing young people like our girls, and we see them every day."

The Obama family was last seen together in June at the opening of The Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. During the event, Michelle Obama expressed admiration for her husband, praising his "stubborn optimism and unflinching courage," as well as his "dazzling brilliance, unpretentious decency, ferocious work ethic and unshakable moral fiber."
