At least 27 people were killed following a Russian attack on the Bucha district, near the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, officials said Saturday. Tymur Tkachenko, head of the local regional military administration, stated that approximately 50 residential buildings sustained damage in the assault. The attack also ignited a substantial fire that spread to nearby homes and a restaurant.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a statement that a warehouse was struck in the village of Myla, which was "followed by a detonation." While he did not provide specifics about the site, he noted that criminal proceedings had been initiated on charges of official negligence.

"There are regulations in place – ammunition cannot be stored near homes or other residential areas," Zelenskyy said.

He also confirmed that a care home for the elderly and individuals with disabilities, along with residential buildings, were damaged. More than 370 people have been evacuated, with the process ongoing.
