Rosie O'Donnell has predicted that President Donald Trump will not remain in office through his potential next term, citing concerns about his health. Appearing on CNN's "The Lead with Jake Tapper," O'Donnell stated her belief that Trump "won't survive that long."

O'Donnell pointed to what she described as "visible and apparent" signs of decline, referencing a recent incident at the NATO summit where Trump appeared to refer to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as "Putin." "He makes the kind of mistakes that you would forgive at Thanksgiving dinner, but you would never let grandpa cut the turkey — because it might be dangerous because he doesn't know what he's saying," O'Donnell said.

Tapper echoed her observation, noting Trump's apparent misstatement of Iran as the "Islamic Republic of Japan" during the same period. O'Donnell concluded, "I mean, we can sit here and name them. There are so many obvious understandings of his dementia and how it's taking over."

O'Donnell relocated to Ireland in January 2025, citing the political climate and her long-standing dispute with Trump following his 2024 election victory. At the time of her move, Trump publicly responded on social media, with one post suggesting consideration of revoking her citizenship. He wrote that O'Donnell was "not in the best interests of our Great Country" and was a "Threat to Humanity."

In a separate context, O'Donnell is scheduled to guest host for Jimmy Kimmel on his late-night show, beginning August 17, as part of Kimmel's summer vacation.
