Rooney Family Stars in New Disney+ Reality Show, Trailer Reveals Tensions and Career Moves

The full trailer for "The Real Rooneys," a new 10-part Disney+ reality series centered on Coleen and Wayne Rooney and their four sons, has been released. The show promises behind-the-scenes access to one of Britain's most famous families as they balance careers and parenting.

In the teaser, Coleen Rooney reflects on how the Wagatha Christie court case, where she successfully sued Rebekah Vardy for leaking private stories to the press, "opened a lot of doors for her career." The legal battle and her subsequent appearance on "I'm A Celebrity" in 2024 have led to significant career opportunities, including the launch of her own Primark clothing range and participation in a high-profile Paddy Power Games advert. Despite this, her son Klay suggests his father is more famous, stating, "My mum's only known because of my dad."

Wayne Rooney, recently announced as a new pundit for "Match of the Day," discusses the ability to spend more time with his children. When asked about having more children, he humorously reveals he has had a vasectomy, joking, "There was... then I had the snip." He also quips about his past scandals, saying, "The doghouse manual? I'm on me third book."

The trailer also captures more intimate moments, including a scene where Coleen confronts Wayne during a family holiday, saying, "This is supposed to be a family holiday. You can't keep doing what you're doing," before walking away from a sunbed. She is also shown discussing the challenges of juggling family responsibilities, telling a friend, "It's hard juggling everything, like the house is not happy."

The series follows the family at their Cheshire home and during travels to Barbados, Disneyland Paris, and the Alps. The Rooney children—Kai, 16, Klay, 13, Kit, 10, and Cass, eight—are shown causing lively moments, with Coleen occasionally needing to admonish them. The family's £20 million home, nicknamed 'The Morrisons Mansion,' is also featured, with Coleen expressing her dream of having it.

Wayne Rooney's eldest son, Kai, is pursuing his own footballing career and is eligible for a professional contract at Manchester United next season. He recently signed with super agent Triple S Sports. The rights to "The Real Rooneys" were secured by Disney+ for a reported £10 million, with Coleen Rooney expected to receive £5 million.

"The Real Rooneys" is set to stream on Disney+ starting September 24th.
