Houston Rockets forward Tari Eason has filed for a domestic violence restraining order against his ex-girlfriend, Marilyn Maritza Rodriguez, alleging physical assault, destruction of property, and death threats. According to court documents obtained by TMZ and reported by Fox News, Eason states that Rodriguez punched him in the face with a closed fist during an argument after he drove her home.

Following the alleged assault, Eason claims Rodriguez proceeded to his Airbnb residence and poured bleach over his designer clothing, causing approximately $92,000 in damages. The court filing also details an alleged phone call from an associate of Rodriguez, who reportedly warned Eason that Rodriguez would cause him serious harm.

Eason stated in the filing that these threats caused him to fear for his safety. He is seeking a court order for Rodriguez to stay away from his home, vehicle, workplace, and any California arenas where the Rockets are scheduled to play.

Eason, the 17th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, is entering his fifth season with the Rockets. He has averaged 10.4 points and 6.3 rebounds per game over his career. The allegations outlined in the restraining order petition have not yet been proven in court.
