Romy Reiner, the youngest child of late filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife Michele, recently appeared in the seventh and final episode of Larry David's HBO series, "Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness." She portrayed a nurse attending to an ailing President William Henry Harrison, played by Fred Melamed.
The acting role follows the tragic deaths of Rob and Michele Reiner, who were found stabbed to death in their Brentwood, California, home in December. Rob Reiner was 78, and Michele Reiner was 70. Their death certificates indicated they sustained "multiple sharp force injuries" from a knife, resulting in their deaths within "minutes" of each other.
Their youngest son, Nick Reiner, a 32-year-old screenwriter, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with their deaths. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole or the death penalty. In February, Nick Reiner, who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Rob and Michele Reiner are also survived by sons Jake and Nick, and daughter Romy. Rob Reiner also had a daughter, Tracy Reiner, from his previous marriage to Penny Marshall.
In a tribute to their father, who was an avid baseball fan, Jake and Romy Reiner threw the first pitch at a Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Boston Red Sox game on August 2.
