Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C., has affirmed his intention to support Sen. Darline Graham, the Republican nominee in South Carolina's U.S. Senate general election. Graham, who is the sister of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, secured the nomination after defeating Norman in a special Republican primary runoff in August.

Norman stated in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that his focus has always been on opposing Democrats and those who enable them. "I respect the decision of South Carolina voters, and I congratulate Senator Darline Graham on winning the Republican nomination," Norman said. "I will support our Republican nominee in November because defeating the Democrats and protecting our conservative values must remain the priority."

Gov. Henry McMaster appointed Graham to fill the vacancy created by her brother's death in July. President Donald Trump had endorsed Graham, a move that preceded her runoff victory against Norman.

Following his runoff loss, Norman had previously indicated he would support Graham. However, he expressed some reservations regarding the source of her campaign funding, noting that she received support from liberal PACs and Sen. Lisa Murkowski. "What I disagree with, she got all of her money from Washington D.C. The liberal PACs, Lisa Murkowski supported her. That's concerning," Norman remarked earlier in the week.

Graham is set to face Democratic nominee Dr. Annie Andrews in the general election.
