Rebecca Judd, 43, has indicated she may not attend the 2026 Brownlow Medal, suggesting her husband, former AFL star Chris Judd, might instead bring their eldest son, Oscar, 15, as his plus-one.

Judd shared that the couple's children are eager to experience the prestigious event themselves. "I think my husband might take Oscar if he's allowed to go at his age," she told Stellar magazine. "The kids are desperate to go."

Rebecca Judd first gained significant public attention at the 2004 Brownlow Medal when she wore a distinctive red gown with a plunging neckline and a thigh split, a design by Perth's Ruth Tarvydas valued at $2,000. This outfit became one of the event's most memorable fashion moments and is credited by her husband with marking a turning point in their public lives.

"It did feel like a before and after event. Some wonderful opportunities opened up from it. Life was just very different," Chris Judd, who was 21 when he won his first Brownlow Medal that year, previously stated. He went on to win the award again in 2010 before retiring from the sport in 2015.

The gown Judd wore in 2004 was initially donated to charity and auctioned off. However, she was recently reunited with the dress and expressed emotion at the reunion. "Oh wow, it's so cool, I feel emotional. Wow, it's amazing," she said in a video. She recalled the immediate impact of the dress, noting, "No one knew me before that night, and the next day half the country knew who I was."

While Judd's fashion choices became a regular talking point surrounding the Brownlow Medal, she was notably absent from the red carpet between 2018 and her return in 2024. She did not attend in 2025, though Chris Judd, 42, continues to receive an invitation and walked the carpet solo in 2019.

Chris and Rebecca Judd married in 2010 and have four children: Billie, 11, Oscar, 15, and twins Darcy and Tom, 9.
