Former "Love & Hip Hop: New York" star Sidney Starr, whose legal name is Sidney Favors, has denied allegations of child sex abuse involving a victim under the age of 16, following her arrest on Sunday. Starr, who is transgender, stated through a representative that she "unequivocally denies" the accusations and that "allegations should not be mistaken for fact, and public opinion should never replace due process."

Starr, who also appeared on "Atlanta Plastic" and "Baddies ATL," was taken into custody after allegedly confessing to performing oral sex on a boy at an Embassy Suites by Hilton hotel in Hapeville, Georgia, on Sunday morning, according to arrest warrants obtained by Atlanta News First. The warrants indicate Starr told officers the sexual act was consensual.

Inmate records show Starr was charged with sexual battery with a child under 16, aggravated child molestation, and sodomy. It is not yet clear if Starr has legal representation. A spokesperson for the Hapeville Police Department told WSB-TV that no further information would be released due to the involvement of a juvenile.

Starr also emphasized that her case should not be generalized to represent the broader transgender community.
