Emily Smith, a star on TLC's "Double Lives of Suburban Wives," has transformed her family's financial situation from relying on food stamps to earning over $1 million annually through adult content creation. The 37-year-old mother of four shared her experience with Fox News Digital, detailing a period where her family struggled with housing and had a grocery budget of only $200 for six people.

From Financial Struggle to Six Figures

Smith described her past financial instability, noting that her family had previously been on food stamps and faced housing insecurity. The significant shift in her financial standing became apparent when her adult content business began generating consistent six-figure monthly income. "I think staying in the 100K a month that's the moment we were like, ‘Well, holy moly,’" Smith told Fox News Digital. "Who would’ve ever expected something like that to happen? Not us, for sure."

Despite the current success, Smith acknowledged the unpredictable nature of content creation, describing it as a "roller-coaster-y" world where good months do not always last. However, she experienced a period where revenue consistently exceeded previous levels.

Unconventional Content and Bizarre Requests

The reality series "Double Lives of Suburban Wives" explores the lives of individuals with unconventional careers behind the facade of suburban living. Smith's adult content niche includes what she terms "kinky weird adult content," encompassing requests such as "giant" videos, a fetish centered on fantasies of giants. Smith, who stands at 5 feet 1 inch, finds this particular niche appealing, stating, "For me, I think the giant videos are really fun."

Among the more unusual requests she has received was one to "lay an egg" for $2,000. Smith expressed a willingness to fulfill her clients' fantasies, stating, "I love to make people’s fantasies come true — if I can do it, I will do it."

Balancing Two Worlds

Smith's journey into adult content creation began after a friend, already involved in the industry, suggested it as an option when the family faced financial difficulties. Her husband, Nathan, eventually left his job as a pharmaceutical store manager to assist with the business, which now includes marketing and other operational aspects. The couple also shares a unique business involving snakes, owning 23 of them, including reticulated pythons.

At home, Smith maintains a conventional role as a mother, cooking, cleaning, and managing daily family routines. However, she described a distinct shift in her persona once the children leave for school. "It's very much like a light switch," she said. "As soon as the kids leave, you put on your little business hat, and you just get out your notebook and your pen, your iPad and your other phones, and you got to start typing up right away."

TLC reports that "Double Lives of Suburban Wives" features six couples from the St. Louis area who have developed successful, unconventional careers in adult content creation while managing their marriages and families. New episodes air Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on TLC.
