Colin Dias, a reality television personality from "Married to Medicine: Los Angeles," has denied allegations that he plotted to hire someone to murder his ex-wife, Lia Jones. The claims were made in a court filing by Jones as part of her request for a domestic violence restraining order.
Robert Eisfelder, Dias's attorney, stated that Jones's allegations are false. According to Eisfelder, Dias has been granted sole legal and physical custody of the couple's two minor children, who are reportedly thriving under his care. Jones is seeking to modify the existing custody orders, with a court hearing scheduled for July 28.
In her court filing, Jones alleged that a neighbor informed her Dias had inquired about the cost of having her killed. She also claimed Dias was actively seeking to recruit someone for this purpose. Eisfelder has denied these accusations.
According to court documents filed by Dias in April, he has made his own allegations of domestic violence against Jones spanning several years. He claimed Jones assaulted him in May 2021, stating she told him, "I wish you would die." Dias also alleged another incident in November 2021, in the presence of their children, where Jones reportedly threatened to "put two bullets" in his head. This led Dias to obtain a restraining order against Jones in November 2021, and a criminal protective order in April 2022, which he claims Jones violated, leading to her arrest.
Eisfelder told TMZ that Jones has made multiple attempts to revise the custody order, none of which have been authorized by the court. Jones, in a statement, described the situation as extremely challenging and distressing, expressing confidence that the court will find sufficient evidence to support her claims after reviewing texts, witness statements, and firsthand accounts.
The divorce between Dias and Jones was finalized in 2023. In her custody filing, Jones stated she had completed various requirements, including therapy, a 52-week domestic violence course, and anger management and parenting classes.
