Reality television personality Angel Victoria Murdock has been accused of fabricating her graduation from Duke University and of falsely presenting herself as a licensed real estate agent in North Carolina and Georgia. Murdock, 26, cultivated a large online following, exceeding 300,000 followers, by sharing content related to her purported high-end real estate business and her studies at Duke.
Murdock, who appeared in six episodes of the Netflix series "Temptation Island" in 2025, posted images in a Duke graduation gown, claiming significant personal sacrifice led to her academic success. "Today, I get to look back and realize that every late night, every sacrifice, every setback and every prayer was leading me right here," she wrote in an Instagram caption accompanying one such post.
However, Duke University confirmed that there is no record of any student named Angel Murdock applying to or attending its Physician Assistant Program. The university's Physician Assistant Program costs $74,000 per year.
Real Estate License Claims
Murdock also claimed online to be a licensed realtor in North Carolina and Georgia, posting property listings valued up to $300,000 and sharing details about her alleged earnings, stating in a 2022 TikTok video that she had earned as much as $7,200 a month. Her online biographies indicated she was "Licensed in NC & GA."
Investigations found no record of Murdock holding a real estate license in either state. The real estate firm Howard Hanna Allen Tate Real Estate, where she claimed to have worked, stated they have never employed an individual with her name.
Impersonating a real estate broker is a Class 1 misdemeanor in North Carolina, punishable by jail time, and a misdemeanor in Georgia, which carries potential fines. Murdock also used the title REALTOR, a trademark of the National Association of Realtors, without being a member. It remains unclear if she conducted any actual real estate transactions. Operating as an unlicensed realtor could lead to further legal consequences.
Academic Background Discrepancies
Murdock also stated she had completed a double major in Psychology and Biology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. However, university records indicate she never graduated, having dropped out midway through her studies.
Her social media activity included videos of herself in scrubs, appearing to participate in clinical rotations, and studying medical materials, all presented as part of her Duke experience. Graduates from Duke's 2026 Physician Assistant program raised suspicions after noticing inconsistencies, such as the incorrect color of Murdock's graduation gown in her photos. A group chat among these students led to the discovery that Murdock was not in the official class photo, not registered with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and her name was not called during the graduation ceremony.
One Duke PA graduate, who requested anonymity, stated that Murdock's claims were "infuriating" given the rigor of PA school. "Seeing someone faking and parading around campus when you haven’t opened a single textbook was the final straw," the graduate said.
Kiera Lee, class historian for the Duke PA cohort, confirmed she knew every student in the program and had never encountered Murdock. Lee noted that Murdock never posted content from inside the program itself.
Murdock has since deactivated her primary TikTok and Instagram accounts following the backlash. A representative for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department indicated that while Murdock is not currently under investigation, they would pursue the matter if a victim of impersonation came forward. Neither Murdock nor the National Association of Realtors responded to requests for comment from The Post.
