Alan Gabay, a 70-year-old real estate broker, hosted two parties this year to find a romantic partner, documented on Instagram. The events took place on a Manhattan rooftop and in a Miami cocktail lounge, with Gabay inviting eligible bachelors he knew and encouraging friends to suggest potential attendees.

Gabay, who works as a broker for Serhant, told The Post that turning 70 prompted him to take a more active approach to finding love. "I thought, let's throw a party and see if we change that," he said.

The New York celebration was held at Inc. 48, a Manhattan hotel, where Gabay invited about 60 guests to the rooftop lounge. The second event was at The Right Hand, a Miami bar with an '80s and '90s theme, which Gabay chose for a more intimate atmosphere.

Gabay noted that while the New York party did not result in a connection, the Miami event led to a promising encounter. There, he met a man about 10 years his junior who attended after seeing a photo of Gabay dressed for the occasion. Gabay described the connection as comfortable, and the two have planned a date.

He expressed a desire for a partner who is confident and comfortable with themselves, not necessarily someone who shares all his interests, which include cultural activities, travel, and dining. Gabay has had five serious relationships in the past, including one that ended due to a partner's drug use and another where he felt his partner expected him to be a financial supporter.

Despite past disappointments, Gabay remains hopeful, citing his own father's experience finding love again at age 90. He prefers meeting people in person over using dating apps, valuing the depth of connection that can be achieved face-to-face. Gabay is currently keeping the developing connection from the Miami party private as it progresses, describing it as a "hard launch" to be revealed if it moves forward.
