Baseball fans at Citi Field received an unexpected surprise during a recent game when a raccoon's paw emerged from a hole in the stadium stands, seeking discarded food. The incident, captured on video by attendee Scott Reynolds, showed the animal's paw probing the cement for peanut shells.
"Holy hell!" Reynolds exclaimed as he filmed the raccoon's foraging efforts. The footage, shared online, also depicts another fan offering the animal a hot dog, which was quickly snatched by the paw. "He took it!" a voice can be heard laughing in the background.
While initially startling, Reynolds and his family found the encounter amusing. "We laughed and enjoyed the extra show," he stated.
The raccoon appeared to have established a vantage point within the stadium infrastructure, capitalizing on dropped food during games. The event provided an unusual form of entertainment for the spectators in the vicinity.
