Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz stated on Friday that his office has not yet decided whether to retry Lindsay Clancy for the 2023 murders of her daughter and two sons. "No decisions will be made today," Cruz told reporters gathered outside the courthouse.

Cruz indicated that the determination of a retrial will be made in forthcoming court proceedings. He acknowledged the emotional nature of the trial for the Duxbury community and the media, emphasizing that the focus remains on seeking justice for the child victims.

"We are here at this courthouse today because those children are not," Cruz stated.

Lindsay Clancy is scheduled to return to court on September 29, at which time a new trial date is expected to be set. The mistrial was declared after a defense lawyer's appeal was denied. Reports prior to the mistrial declaration indicated the defense was granted a limited time to argue against the case proceeding, following an outburst in the courtroom. The case has garnered national attention, with details of Clancy's personal life, including her estranged ex-husband and his new wife, also being highlighted.
