Princess Leonor of Asturias commenced her university education at Carlos III University of Madrid, beginning a four-year degree in Political Science. The heir to the Spanish throne arrived at the Getafe campus in casual attire, opting for jeans and a blouse after concluding her military training in July.
Leonor, 20, will undertake a curriculum that includes courses in humanities, economics, sociology, history, and international relations, as stated by the palace. On her first day, she attended sessions on Legal Theory, Research Methodology in Social Sciences, and Fundamentals of Political Science, along with a welcome session. The royal household confirmed the conclusion of her first day on campus.
Her transition to university follows the completion of her intensive military training. In July, she received the title of Adoptive Daughter of San Javier and the Gold Medal of the Town, marking the end of her Air Force training. As the future Commander in Chief of the armed forces, her military education included time spent in each defense branch. This training echoes that of her father, King Felipe, and grandfather, Juan Carlos, both of whom also completed military service.
Earlier in the summer, Princess Leonor and her younger sister, Infanta Sofia, attended the annual Marivent Palace reception. Leonor wore a two-piece ensemble by Spanish brand Thinking Mu for the event, an outfit previously seen at a concert in Madrid. The sisters were also photographed arriving arm-in-arm with their grandmother, Queen Sofia, at the palace.
