Princess and Junior Andre believe the truce between their mother, Katie Price, and father, Peter Andre, has become "solidified" following their joint appearance on the third series of the reality show "The Princess Diaries." The siblings, who were previously caught in the middle of their parents' public feud, shared their perspective in a recent interview with the Daily Mail.
"I feel like having family in a reality show just makes sense. It's always good to bounce off people that you just have natural connections with," Princess said. Junior added that seeing their parents together on screen "solidifies their truce" after they publicly confirmed their war of words was over in February.
"The statement, I think it was a long time coming," Junior explained. "Everyone has got over certain things, and just to make everyone's life easier, make a truce so that no one can say anything bad."
The former couple, who married in 2005 and divorced in 2009, have two children, Junior, 21, and Princess, 19. While Katie Price was not featured in the first series of "The Princess Diaries" and Peter Andre opted out of the second, both are appearing in the upcoming third season. "Obviously, the reason we're so used to being on reality TV is because we grew up on our parents' reality shows. So, obviously, mum and dad are both really good in front of the camera," Princess noted.
Princess also commented on her mother's appearance in the show, stating that "The Princess Diaries is 'no longer a PG show' thanks to mum Katie." She described her mother as "a character" with "no filter" and found it humorous to film with her, particularly after stating her own show was intended to be PG. Princess was referring to scenes in the first episode where Katie Price revealed the results of a recent cosmetic surgery, noting one breast was larger than the other.
Princess and Junior confirmed they have not met Katie's current husband, Lee Andrews, 43, who has faced legal issues in Dubai. "We actually keep out of it," they told the Daily Mail. The siblings did FaceTime their mother while she was visiting Andrews in Dubai during the first episode.
Having grown up on their parents' reality programs, including "Katie & Peter: The Next Chapter" and "Jordan & Peter: Marriage and Mayhem," the Andre siblings said it felt natural to allow ITV cameras into their lives. However, they also emphasized the importance of maintaining certain boundaries regarding privacy.
"I feel like there are some things that are and should be kept private just because not everything needs to be out there," Princess said. "But at the same time most of my life is out there anyway... I think if I was dating someone at the beginning I definitely wouldn't want to show that."
Looking ahead, Princess and Junior are focused on establishing their own careers. Princess is preparing to launch a beauty brand and has expressed interest in a television presenting career, aiming for roles like hosting "Love Island" or "Aftersun," a sentiment echoed by Junior. Junior is also preparing to release new music.
"I personally have so many goals; I don’t see the end, I just see me always achieving new things," Princess stated. "I just see success for both of us."
"The Princess Diaries" returns to ITVX on Tuesday, July 28.
