Phoebe Knatchbull, a distant cousin of Prince William and an heiress with Mountbatten lineage, recently celebrated her marriage to childhood sweetheart Leopold Glover in a grand second wedding ceremony in Portugal. The event, held over the weekend, followed a smaller civil ceremony in London in February 2025.
The celebration took place at the exclusive venue Solar de Lavada, with reports suggesting venue packages exceed €30,000 (approximately £25,000). The festivities included a pool party, a fireworks display, and live music, culminating in a celebration that allowed the couple to include a larger number of family and friends.
Knatchbull, 30, who is the stepdaughter of Philip Knatchbull, grandson of the 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma, stunned in a strapless lace gown for the ceremony. Her accessories included pearl drop earrings and a glittering bracelet, with her blonde hair styled in loose waves.
Photos shared by Knatchbull's stepsister, Daisy Knatchbull, a fashion designer, showcased the event on Instagram. Daisy, who served as a bridesmaid, wore a floor-length blue dress. During the reception, Phoebe changed into a white and silver sequin mini dress and was seen dancing with guests.
A pool party was also part of the weekend's events, with guests donning swimwear and sailor hats. Knatchbull wore a white bikini, while her stepsister opted for a leopard print swimsuit. Daisy's fiancé, Giovanni Damani, who is an Italian music executive, served as the DJ for the pool party.
Phoebe and Leopold, an investment banker, first tied the knot in a civil ceremony at Kensington and Chelsea Register Office. For that occasion, Phoebe wore a cream tuxedo-style mini dress designed by Daisy, personalized with 'Mrs Glover' embroidered in blue. She incorporated sentimental family heirlooms into her outfit, including a Cartier necklace from her mother, pearl and diamond earrings from her godmother, and her late mother-in-law's engagement ring made into a bracelet.
The couple met as children, reportedly attending the £28,000-per-year Garden House School in Chelsea. They became engaged in Central Park, New York, where Leopold presented Phoebe with a sapphire trilogy ring. Knatchbull works as a director at a global health communications agency in New York. Neither Prince William nor Prince Harry are believed to have attended either wedding ceremony.
