Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly preparing for a potential return to the UK, coinciding with efforts to establish a more enduring brand identity. As they are no longer working members of the Royal Family, the couple is exploring various professional avenues.
Meghan is said to be in discussions for a role in Guy Ritchie's Netflix series, "The Gentlemen." This potential acting engagement would mark her first significant role since her marriage to Prince Harry. Since 2024, Meghan has focused on her lifestyle brand, "As ever," which offers products such as jams, teas, and candles. The brand was initially supported by Netflix, though that partnership concluded in March. There is no indication that the brand will cease operations with their potential transatlantic move.
The couple has other income streams, including inheritance and the substantial sales of Harry's memoir, "Spare," which became the fastest-selling non-fiction book in the UK since record-keeping began in 1998.
Reports suggest a possible relocation to the Cotswolds, an area known for attracting high-profile residents, where they have reportedly spent time previously. Laura Stoloff, an American stylist and creative director with ties to both London and the Cotswolds, views a connection between Meghan's lifestyle brand and the essence of Cotswolds living. "I actually think it could make her brand more distinctive," Stoloff told the BBC. "There is still a lot of fascination with English country life, particularly in America, and she has the ability to bring that to a very large, global audience."
However, branding expert Stephen cautioned that a change of location alone is insufficient for brand repositioning. "A return to the UK could be a useful brand reset, but a postcode does not reposition a brand. Behaviour does," he stated.
