Samudhra, a popular Indian restaurant and lounge based in Franklin Park, New Jersey, is set to open its first Manhattan location at The Ellery, a luxury residential tower located at 312 West 43rd Street. The restaurant will occupy approximately 10,000 square feet of space on the West 43rd Street side of the building.

The mixed-use tower, developed by Taconic Partners and National Real Estate Advisors, was designed with the intention of including a significant dining establishment. George Tsapelas, senior vice-president at Taconic, stated that their goal was to "create a dynamic mixed-use destination that contributes to the energy of the area," and that Samudhra "further strengthens the retail and dining mix we’ve curated at the property."

The Ellery is a 33-story tower that saw all 330 of its residential units rented within 11 months of becoming available. Amenities for tenants include a rooftop pool and a fitness center. The building also recently welcomed ALDI, a fast-growing grocery chain, which opened its first Midtown store there in June.

CBRE's Lon Rubackin, Michael Kadosh, and Bevan Cohen represented the landlord in the lease agreement. Samudhra was represented by Brad Schwarz of Lee & Associates.
