Dramatic footage shows a police K-9 biting and dragging a suspect from a vehicle during a standoff that occurred around midnight Thursday in San Bernardino. The incident took place in a strip mall parking lot at 5200 University Parkway.
After a standoff lasting more than an hour, officers deployed the K-9, which latched onto the suspect’s left arm and pulled him from the car.
Once the suspect was outside the vehicle, multiple officers swarmed him, handcuffed him, and brought him to his feet. The arrest was made without further incident. San Bernardino County Fire personnel were also present to evaluate the suspect but did not transport him to a hospital.
Officials at the scene declined to comment on the circumstances that led to the standoff, and the San Bernardino Police Department has not yet released further information.
