Police are investigating the attempted murder of two officers who were targeted by a white Renault Traffic van while carrying out inquiries at a property in Larkhall. The incident occurred as officers were at a property on Glen Avenue.

The van was later recovered in Kirkstyle Place, Glassford. Police reported no other injuries.

Authorities described the suspect as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing dark shorts, a grey jumper, and a beige baseball cap.

Chief Inspector Paul Doyle stated that violence is not considered part of a police officer's job and will not be tolerated. "I would like to reassure the community that we are working to trace the person responsible and will continue to carry out inquiries in the local area," Doyle said. "We are speaking to members of the public and there will be additional patrols in the area, and would encourage anyone with any information or concerns to speak to officers."

He added that his thoughts were with the officers, their families, and colleagues, and that they would receive all necessary support.
