Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos acknowledged that the analysis of DNA and digital evidence in the nearly six-month investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie has been "complex and time-intensive." The sheriff reiterated that his department and the FBI remain committed to finding the 84-year-old matriarch.
"The Guthrie investigation remains active and ongoing," Nanos stated in a release shared on X. "A task force of investigators from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI remains committed to finding Nancy and providing answers to her family."
Since Guthrie's disappearance in February, leads have been scarce. Nanos emphasized that the investigative work is continuing, with every credible lead being pursued. He echoed a sentiment recently expressed by Guthrie's daughter, Savannah Guthrie, urging anyone with information to come forward.
"As Savannah Guthrie recently said, it is never too late to do the right thing," Nanos said. "Anyone with information is urged to come forward and help bring this case to a resolution."
A dedicated FBI hotline was established following Guthrie's disappearance to facilitate the reporting of any relevant information.
