Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton was treated for an overdose and multiple injuries by first responders following a self-harm livestream on Aug. 4, according to a Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office report. The report does not specify the substance involved in the overdose or the exact treatment administered, but it indicates that fire rescue personnel transported Hilton, 48, to the hospital.

Police were called to Hilton's Miami home after receiving calls about a possible suicide attempt during the livestream. Footage from the event, not republished by some outlets, appeared to show Hilton with self-inflicted knife wounds. The incident occurred after Hilton's sister, Barbara, and his three children, Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, eight, had been at the residence.

Barbara Hilton told authorities that she and the children fled the home and went to her parked car. According to the report, the blogger, described as nude and covered in blood, emerged from the house and banged on the car's driver-side window. He then returned inside and locked himself in.

Authorities and some of Hilton's family members gained entry to the home. Barbara Hilton reported to officers that her brother had expressed suicidal thoughts prior to the livestream and that the family had sought treatment for him the week before. She recounted finding him in his bathroom, naked, cut and bleeding, holding a box cutter.

Barbara Hilton stated that she quickly ushered the children out of the house and called 911. While awaiting emergency services, she asked a friend to take the children away from the scene. She then re-entered the home and attempted to staunch her brother's bleeding before paramedics arrived.

Three days after Hilton was hospitalized, his mother, Teresita Lavandeira, filed a petition in Miami family court to temporarily gain custody of his children.

Hilton's team confirmed that he sustained significant blood loss and other injuries, requiring surgery. He remains hospitalized under Florida's Baker Act, which allows for involuntary commitment for individuals deemed a risk to themselves or others. Communication has been limited to immediate family and medical providers. Hilton's condition is described as serious but stable, with his recovery expected to be a lengthy process.

This is not Hilton's first hospitalization this year; he was treated for sepsis in March after developing an ulcer from taking flu medication on an empty stomach, which led to a 21-day hospital stay. Hilton, born Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., launched his celebrity gossip blog in 2004, gaining widespread recognition for his commentary on celebrities. He has also faced criticism for his remarks.
