Perez Hilton has been moved to a residential treatment facility where he is expected to stay for an extended period as he continues to recover from a severe mental health crisis. His family confirmed the move, stating he will remain under professional care for "several more weeks, potentially longer," depending on his treatment team's recommendations.
This transition follows over a month of hospitalization for the 48-year-old celebrity blogger, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr. The hospitalization stemmed from a mental crisis that led to an attempted self-harm incident. During this critical recovery period, Hilton does not have access to a phone or laptop, and his communication with friends and family is restricted.

Hilton's three children—Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, eight—are currently in Miami, Florida, under the temporary custody of their grandmother, Teresita Lavandeira. According to Hilton's relatives, the children are remaining together, safe, and are being provided with as much stability and normalcy as possible while their father focuses on his recovery.

Court documents obtained by TMZ indicate that Hilton is permitted supervised visits with his children, requiring psychiatric clearance beforehand and supervision by an approved family member or therapist.
Prior to the incident, Hilton had relocated from Las Vegas to his hometown of Miami in June, where he was residing with his children and mother. On August 4, his sister found him in a bathroom at the home with significant blood loss and multiple broken bones, reportedly after he had been filming a livestream on TikTok that appeared to show him engaging in self-harm. TikTok suspended his account following the broadcast.

Deputies responded to the scene due to numerous calls from concerned viewers and the social media platform's moderation team. Hilton received treatment for lacerations and an overdose and was subsequently transported to a hospital under Florida's Baker Act, which allows for involuntary holds during mental health crises.
Hilton's family released a statement emphasizing his current focus on recovery and expressing gratitude for the support surrounding him. "Perez is alive, he's getting help, and he's surrounded by people who want to see him healthy and happy again," the statement concluded. "Right now, those are the things that matter most."
