Perez Hilton has listed his Las Vegas mansion for $4.25 million as he plans to move back to his hometown of Miami. The decision comes after a life-threatening medical emergency earlier this year prompted him to re-evaluate his priorities.
The roughly 7,000-square-foot estate, located in the exclusive Prado community, served as Hilton's home for two-and-a-half years. During his time in Las Vegas, Hilton raised his family, filmed interviews, and produced documentaries. The property features six en-suite bedrooms, a detached casita, a multigenerational suite, and a resort-style backyard. It is listed by Kathryn Winterton with Las Vegas Sotheby's International Realty.
Hilton recently experienced a severe medical emergency that led to sepsis and heart issues, requiring multiple surgeries. He described the experience as near-fatal and stated that he “met God” during this time, who advised him to spend more time with his family. This has prompted his decision to leave Las Vegas.
"It is a beautiful home, and it served me well personally and professionally," Hilton told the Daily Mail. "I was in the house for two-and-a-half years but now it's time to leave Las Vegas as I want to focus on my health while with my family back in my hometown of Miami. Miami is where I need to be."
The blogger, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., gained prominence in the early 2000s with his celebrity news website, PerezHilton.com. He has since expanded his career into television, podcasting, and authorship.
While Hilton has not lived in Miami for 30 years, he expressed excitement about rediscovering the city. He is currently renting a place in Miami and is in the process of moving. He plans to explore areas like Boca Raton and Key West before deciding on a permanent neighborhood, prioritizing good schools for his children.
"I had such a great time in Las Vegas but am looking forward to rediscovering Miami, which I have not lived in for 30 years," Hilton stated. "It has become a worldly city, I love the newness of it and all it has to offer."
Despite losing some hair due to anesthesia, antibiotics, and stress from his surgeries, Hilton reports feeling healthy and has resumed going to the gym. He also noted that Miami offers a stronger sense of community compared to Las Vegas, which he appreciates.
