Perez Hilton Felt Overwhelmed Weeks Before Livestreamed Incident

Perez Hilton disclosed in a YouTube video shared on June 28 that he had been feeling "overwhelmed" and "in a bit of a spiral" in the weeks leading up to his recent livestreamed self-harm incident. The 48-year-old celebrity blogger explained that the feelings stemmed from his family's move from Nevada to Florida.

"I was in a bit of a spiral because I was overwhelmed with our move to Miami, and I didn’t do these things that I know are good for me," Hilton stated in the video, noting that he had not been exercising or attending church. He also mentioned he had not been reading his bible, practices he had previously engaged in.

In the same vlog, Hilton expressed that he had returned to these routines, stating, "I’m back. I went to the gym this morning for the first time in weeks." He added, "I also went to church today for the first time in weeks." He reported feeling "soothed" and "inspired" after his day of "work."

In the days following the YouTube update, Hilton was hospitalized on Tuesday after self-harming during a TikTok livestream. Authorities responded to reports of a "suicide attempt" at his Miami residence, where they remained for approximately four hours before he was safely recovered and transported to a local hospital. Police vehicles were observed outside his home.

A statement from Hilton's family on Wednesday indicated that he "is able to communicate" and that they are "taking things one step at a time and keeping our focus where it belongs, on Perez and his recovery."

Sources close to Hilton shared that he has been experiencing a difficult period as the "breadwinner" for his family, with significant medical bills accumulating after a life-threatening sepsis battle and emergency surgery earlier in the year. The financial pressures, coupled with the demands of providing for his household, have reportedly been a substantial burden.
