One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has criticized Australian authorities, labeling them "stupid" for advancements in transgender rights and immigration policies. Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) UK in London, Hanson also stated that individuals should "not apologize for being white."
Hanson accused the Australian government of "flooding our country with people" and asserted that the nation was becoming "completely woke." She expressed concerns about the recognition of transgender identities, stating, "There are only two sexes: male and female. That's it." She also raised issues regarding transgender individuals participating in women's sports.
During her address, Hanson also reiterated her support for a burqa ban, noting that 24 countries have already implemented such measures. She criticized immigration levels, claiming Australia is five to 10 years behind Britain in managing its influx and suggested the country cannot cope. Hanson specifically mentioned the arrival of 3,000 people from Gaza, stating that their intentions for assimilation are unknown and that this is changing Australian culture.
She shared observations from visits to places like Luton and Tower Hamlets in England, expressing concerns about migrants from Islamic countries being incompatible with Western cultural norms. Hanson stated her belief that Australia is five to 10 years behind the situation she observed in Britain and that she would not allow a similar outcome in her own country.
Hanson's remarks in London were part of a 10-day European tour that included an appearance on a podcast hosted by activist Tommy Robinson and a meeting with mining billionaire Gina Rinehart in Italy. She was introduced at CPAC UK by Liz Truss, former British Prime Minister, who referred to Hanson as a "potential future prime minister of Australia."
Following criticism regarding her stance on immigration, Hanson addressed allegations that she was advocating for a return to the White Australia policy. She stated that such claims were false and were being made by "leftie organisations" seeking to discredit her and her party. Hanson clarified that she supports a controlled migration program with a focus on assimilation and integration, while opposing practices such as cousin marriages, sharia law, and child marriage.
