Paul Pelosi, husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, has a history of traffic violations spanning more than a decade, including speeding, running red lights, and driving the wrong way on a one-way street. These citations occurred prior to his May 2022 arrest for driving under the influence and his July 2024 arrest for crashing his convertible into a parked Tesla in Napa Valley.

According to reports, Pelosi, 86, received at least eight driving violations over a period exceeding ten years. In addition to the recent crash, he was cited in December 2023 for driving through a left-turn light in San Francisco. In 2017, he drove the wrong way down a one-way street in Marin County, and in 2014, he was stopped for using a cellphone while driving. Earlier, in 2013, he drove through a red turn light in San Mateo County without stopping and failed to stop at a stop sign in San Francisco.

Pelosi received three tickets and a warning within a five-month span in 2011, including for speeding on a highway in San Mateo County and crossing double yellow lines near the family's Napa Valley home. That same year, he was cited for failing to stop at a red light in Napa County and had multiple violations for running a red light and veering over the center line.

In May 2022, Pelosi pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor DUI causing injury charge after crashing his Porsche into another vehicle in Napa County. His blood alcohol content at the time was measured at 0.082%. Associates have reportedly attributed his more recent driving incidents to his age and infirmity.

When Pelosi was a teenager in 1957, he was involved in a car crash that resulted in the death of his 19-year-old brother. Reports at the time indicated that his brother had urged him to slow down before the fatal rollover. Pelosi was ultimately exonerated in that incident.
