A 40-year-old partially blind man, Simon Levy, with a history of 13 convictions for sexual offenses against women, is on trial at the Old Bailey accused of murdering two women and raping a third in an alleged eight-month spree. Prosecutors claim Levy targeted vulnerable women between July 2018 and May 2025, believing he could escape consequences. He denies two counts of murder, two counts of rape, grievous bodily harm with intent, and non-fatal suffocation.

Accusations and Timeline

The prosecution alleges that Levy committed a series of predatory sexual attacks on three women, each described as vulnerable, in the first eight months of 2025. He is accused of raping his first victim in January 2025, strangling her until she lost consciousness. The 35-year-old survivor reported that Levy attacked her, breaking her clavicle and smothering her while preventing her from making noise. She reportedly recovered consciousness after Levy left.

Two months later, in March 2025, Levy is accused of killing Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, 53, whose body was discovered in a stairwell in Southwark, southeast London. A pipe with Levy's blood and his DNA on the victim's body were reportedly found at the scene. Levy was arrested on April 1 but provided a 'no comment' response when questioned about her death. Police later released him after her cause of death was deemed unascertained.

Four months after his arrest in connection with the first alleged murder, Levy is accused of killing again. On August 24, 2025, the body of Sheryl Wilkins, 39, was found in a car park in Tottenham. She had 83 injuries to her face, head, upper body, arms, and legs. Her cause of death was also considered unascertained, but the prosecution suggested it could have resulted from smothering, neck compression, or chest compression. Levy's DNA was found on her body. The location of this attack was reportedly close to Levy's home and the scene of the first rape allegation.

Defendant's History and Defense

Prosecutor Tom Little, KC, told the jury that Levy has a significant record of sexual offenses, including convictions for sexual assault in 2018 and a further 11 sexual assaults between April 2022 and May 2025. Six of these offenses occurred in the first five months of 2025, the same period as the alleged attacks on the three women.

Siobhan Grey, KC, representing Levy, argued that the prosecution's case relies on coincidence and questioned whether the women were unlawfully killed or died from drug-related causes. She stated that Levy's previous convictions were for offenses entirely different from the current charges. Levy maintains that his sexual encounters with both victims were consensual.
