A fight over a coveted parking spot in New York City's East Village turned violent last Tuesday, with video footage showing a skateboard being used as a weapon.

The incident occurred when a driver in a Mercedes attempted to park in a spot that a skateboarder and a friend were holding for someone else. According to reports, the skateboarder initially struck the Mercedes with his skateboard before throwing it at the vehicle.

The driver then exited the car, retrieved the skateboard, and swung it at the skateboarder, initiating a physical fight. The altercation involved punches and kicks before both individuals fell to the pavement. During the struggle, the skateboarder gained an advantage, eventually striking the Mercedes driver in the head with the skateboard before applying a chokehold.

Witnesses observed that the Mercedes' windshield was damaged during the brawl.

The New York Police Department confirmed that the Mercedes driver was attempting to park when the dispute began. The skateboarder left the scene and, as of Saturday afternoon, police were still seeking him. The Mercedes driver was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
