Oprah Winfrey plans to host a live event titled "Oprah Winfrey's AHA" at the Las Vegas Sphere from April 2-4, aiming to leverage the venue's advanced technology to inspire personal growth and self-discovery.
Winfrey was captivated by the immersive capabilities of the Sphere after attending U2's opening night performance in 2023. She envisioned using the globe-shaped arena's multisensory features to create an environment where individuals could "go deeper for themselves and walk away with a sense of awe and wonder about what it means to be alive."
The two-hour event will feature Winfrey alongside a lineup of collaborators, including Grammy winner Jacob Collier, poet Ocean Vuong, musician Ajeet, and gospel singer Wintley Phipps. The creative team includes Oscar-nominated composer Max Richter, musicians Jason White and Jon Hopkins, playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney, and stage designer Es Devlin.
Tickets for "Oprah Winfrey's AHA" will go on sale to the general public on September 25.
This venture comes 15 years after the conclusion of "The Oprah Winfrey Show," which recently marked its 40th anniversary of U.S. syndication. Winfrey, 72, has remained active with her OWN TV network, podcasts, and various live events, expressing a desire to utilize the coming decade to share her insights in an "immersive way."
Despite no longer hosting a daily talk show, Winfrey's influence remains significant, impacting authors through her book club, consumer choices via her "Favorite Things" lists, and political discourse, as politicians continue to seek her endorsement.
Winfrey described her inspiration for the event as a realization of the vast opportunities she has been given and her responsibility not to take them for granted. Drawing on wisdom from Maya Angelou, she aims to encourage attendees to recognize and be "obedient to the call" within themselves, leading to unexpected heights of personal achievement.
