Ola Jordan has embarked on a solo holiday with her daughter Ella, following her public acknowledgment of a split from her husband, James Jordan. The former "Strictly Come Dancing" professionals announced the end of their 26-year relationship earlier this month in a joint statement.
Jordan, 43, shared moments from their trip on Instagram, posting a mirror selfie with Ella, 6, as they prepared for their departure. Ella was also pictured with her suitcase outside the terminal, with Jordan captioning the image, "And we are off." The dancer documented their journey, including Ella interacting with airline staff and selfies taken on the plane. Before their flight, Ella showcased her dancing abilities alongside her mother.
This outing comes after Jordan confessed that her "heart has felt heavier than she ever imagined" while reflecting on the separation from James, 48. In a candid Instagram message, she wrote, "Life has changed in ways I never expected, and some days have been incredibly tough." She credited Ella as her "little ray of sunshine through some of my darkest days," stating that spending time with her daughter and creating memories has been her greatest comfort.
Jordan also expressed gratitude to her family, friends, and fans for their messages of support, emphasizing that their kindness has been invaluable during this challenging period. "This summer hasn’t been the one I imagined, but I’m choosing to focus on what truly matters - her, our memories, and all the love between us," she added.
James Jordan has previously spoken about the split on his podcast "Manopause" and during an appearance on "This Morning." He described going through a midlife crisis and finding the last few years "really tough," admitting he is "struggling with life at the minute." He has moved out of their family home in Kent and is reportedly staying in a one-bedroom flat.
The joint statement released by the couple in August detailed their decision to take time apart to work through personal challenges. "We have always tried to be open and honest with the people who have supported us over the years and we feel it’s only right that this update comes from us," the statement read. "At the moment we’re taking some time apart as we work through very difficult personal challenges. (James) moved out of the family home some time ago. This has been an incredibly painful and emotional journey for us both and it certainly wasn’t an easy decision."
The statement underscored that their "absolute priority" is their daughter Ella, and they are committed to co-parenting her with "all the love, care and stability she deserves." The Jordans acknowledged that James's mental health has been a significant factor, stating, "I’ve been struggling more than I’ve let people see and I’m taking the time I need to focus on getting myself into a healthier place, both for myself and for Ella." They concluded by asking for understanding, noting that "real people and real emotions" are behind the headlines.
