New York City police officers swiftly rescued eight passengers from a seaplane that made an emergency landing in the East River on Sunday. The Kodiak 100 aircraft was returning from the Hamptons when it encountered trouble.

Body-worn camera footage released by the NYPD on Monday captured the dramatic rescue. Responders were seen heading toward the partially submerged plane on choppy waters. In the video, an officer can be heard confirming that there were no missing persons and no injuries, expressing apparent relief.

The rescued passengers were seen moving one by one from the plane's pontoon onto the NYPD boat. Officers offered words of encouragement to those being helped. The footage begins as the passengers are exiting the aircraft, following the initial moments of the hard landing.
