North West, the 13-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, expressed a desire for a bridge piercing, which passes horizontally through the skin on the upper bridge of the nose, but stated that her parents have not permitted it. "I really want to get my bridge pierced, but I’m not allowed," West told Dazed magazine.
West, who is the cover star for the publication's fall issue, has previously garnered attention for her body jewelry, including studs on her fingers, hands, and face. She told Dazed that piercings "just make you your full self."
Her foray into body jewelry began in late summer of the previous year when she was seen with finger studs in Rome. This led to criticism on social media, with some users deeming the choice "dangerous" for a 12-year-old.
Despite the reported restrictions on a real bridge piercing, West has experimented with the look using temporary accessories. In January, she showcased a fake version of the piercing, featuring two silver balls on either side of her nose, on TikTok.
During an October interview on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, Kim Kardashian addressed public commentary regarding her children's fashion and style choices. She acknowledged that certain trends adopted by the children were subsequently abandoned after facing public scrutiny. "Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world," Kardashian remarked.
