North West, the 13-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, has again drawn attention for her social media presence, this time appearing in a TikTok video with what seem to be silver studs on her face. The video, posted on Wednesday to the duo's joint account, showcases North in a gothic black dress, spiked bracelets, and blue-dyed hair styled in long pigtails. She captioned the seven-second clip with a zombie emoji and set it to spooky music, which has since garnered nearly one million likes.
This appearance follows a period of discussion and criticism regarding North's public interactions. Last Friday, rapper Skepta publicly voiced concerns about a video from Paris Fashion Week showing North being hugged by a stranger. Skepta, whose full name is Joseph Olaitan Adenuga Jr., tweeted that it was inappropriate for a 13-year-old to be mingling with unknown adults, emphasizing the importance of reading body language and protecting children. His comments resonated with some social media users and Reddit forum participants who agreed that boundaries should be respected.
In parallel with North's TikTok post, Kim Kardashian has been actively promoting her daughter's burgeoning music career. On Thursday, Kardashian used her Instagram Story to encourage fans to purchase tickets for North's upcoming concert tour, titled the "Kimokawii" tour. The tour, featuring 21-year-old rapper Molly Santana, is North's first headlining venture since launching her solo music career earlier this year. It is scheduled to begin on August 5 in Dallas, Texas, and conclude on August 27 in Los Angeles, California, with a total of 14 dates across the United States. Kardashian shared photos of North and Santana together, including one from backstage at a music festival.
North has been building her career in entertainment, having released her debut EP, "N0rth4evr," last month. More than two years ago, she performed in concerts for "The Lion King" at the Hollywood Bowl. Her parents have consistently expressed support for her show business aspirations. The recent public scrutiny, juxtaposed with Kardashian's active promotion of North's tour, highlights the young artist's increasing presence in the public eye.
