Elizabeth 'Liz' Waddell, 44, has disappeared without a trace while on a trip to the Caribbean island of Grenada. The wife of Cailen Waddell, the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources manager for the city of Cary, North Carolina, was last seen on Wednesday at Grand Anse Beach in Saint George's, the capital of Grenada. The Royal Grenada Police Force has not released details regarding the circumstances of her disappearance but has requested assistance from local fishermen, boat operators, and coastal residents in reporting any sightings.
Waddell, described as 5'5" tall with short blonde hair, was pictured on a missing person poster with pink-dyed hair. Her husband, who traveled to Grenada on Friday to assist in the search, shared the poster on Facebook, appealing for thoughts and prayers for her safe return. Elizabeth Waddell is the founder of Art of Movement Physical Therapy center in Cary and holds a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
Social media accounts suggest the couple are frequent travelers, with past trips including Isla Holbox in Mexico and a several-month stay in Thailand last year. They adopted their adult daughter, Suwan, in 2024. The Royal Grenada Police are urging anyone with information about Waddell's whereabouts to contact them.
