A North Carolina teacher has been arrested and fired after allegedly striking six students with a ruler. Likisha Carter, 55, reportedly used the ruler on children between the ages of 5 and 8 on September 15 at Hunter Elementary School in Greensboro.

According to a warrant obtained by WXII 12, Carter allegedly struck the students "on various parts of the body." She was arrested on October 29 and charged with six counts of assault on a child under 12. Court records indicate she was released on a $5,000 bond.

Officials stated that Carter had been employed at the school from August 21, 2024, until her dismissal on October 26, 2026. Attorney information for Carter was not immediately available.
