Noah Wyle secured his second consecutive Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role in "The Pitt" at the 2026 Emmy Awards. He was joined at the event by his former "ER" castmate Julianna Margulies, who presented him with the award. Wyle also won the same award the previous year for his performance in the medical drama.

Wyle, who plays Dr. Michael 'Robby' Robinavitch in the HBO Max series, beat out strong competition including Gary Oldman for "Slow Horses," Sterling K. Brown for "Paradise," Mark Ruffalo for "Task," and Rufus Sewell for "The Diplomat." Margulies, who played head nurse Carol Hathaway on "ER," famously exited the show in 2000 after its sixth season, while Wyle, who portrayed Dr. John Carter, remained a series regular until 2005. Despite not starring together for over two decades, the pair have maintained a close bond.

"The Pitt" garnered a leading 25 nominations, including a nod for Outstanding Drama Series. The series is a procedural medical drama set at a fictional hospital, similar to "ER." In other acting categories, Rhea Seehorn won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for "Pluribus," and Allison Janney took home Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for "The Diplomat." Vince Gilligan won for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series for "Pluribus," while Saul Metzstein won for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for "Slow Horses."

In the comedy categories, Jean Smart won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for "Hacks," and Matthew Rhys secured the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for "Widow's Bay." "Widow's Bay" also won for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series. "Hacks" received 24 nominations, second only to "The Pitt."
